Journey – Armor (Pt. 5)

Shield of Faith: Ephesians 6: 16 (NKJV) “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”

If you like to watch movies like Braveheart or read historical romance books (avid reader), you may see or imagine shields being penetrated by some strong arrows.  If you like to watch modern action films, you may even see some bulletproof vests or car windows being penetrated by some high-powered guns or rifles. However, the shield of faith is impenetrable. I am trusting the shield of faith to always protect me. Yes, the wicked one may know what God may have planned for me and may set traps to derail His plans BUT, as long as I have this piece of armor, I will not fear and His plans for me will not be derailed. This is the source of my confidence and courage. So each day I shall be confident and be courageous, even if it may seem the world or my world is coming to an end (or is filled with chaos and uncertainties), that God’s perfect plans for me will be fulfilled.

Journey – Armor (Pt. 4)

Gospel of Peace: Ephesians 6:15 “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” 1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” NKJV

With the gospel of peace protecting my feet, I shall boldly walk the path God has laid before me. As I walk this path, I know that He who began a good work in me will continue to do so until the day Christ Jesus returns (read Philippians 1:6); and with God, nothing will be impossible for me to do (read Philippians 4:13). Therefore, I will continue to be strong and courageous as God does His will in my life.

Ready, Set…

Journey – Armor (Pt. 3)

Righteousness : “…having put on the breastplate of righteousness,” Ephesians 6:14. Isaiah 52:7 and Romans 10:15 tells us that righteousness is “How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news.” Jesus came to earth to bring us good news. The good news is:

  • Through salvation we become God’s children again;
  • No need to worry and be anxious as there is peace with God;
  • Your God shall supply all your needs;
  • You are forgiven;
  • You are not forgotten;
  • You are loved;
  • “Your God is King” Isaiah 52:7

This breastplate will protect me from fear; fear of the unknown, past, and present. I am the child of the King. He knows my name. I will not be forgotten by Him. Thank You, God, for giving us this GOOD NEWS through Your son, Jesus Christ.

Journey – Armor (Pt. 2)

Truth: The first part of the armor that I am putting on as I get ready for my journey is the belt of truth. What is TRUTH?

  • Isaiah 59:1 – “Surely the Lord’s power is enough to save you.” New Century Version (NCV)
  • Romans 13:12 – “The “night” is almost finished, and the “day” is almost here. So we should stop doing things that belong to darkness and take up the weapons used for fighting in the light.” (NCV)
  • Ephesians 6:13 – “This is why you need to put on God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.” (NCV)
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:8 – “But we belong to the day, so we should control ourselves…” (NCV)

First of all, I must believe that God’s word is the truth and it should be with me at all times. Jesus used God’s word to fight against the temptations of the devil. I must make sure to do my utmost in living by God’s commandments and allow my life to reflect Him. Hatred and unforgiveness of others should not be a part of me. Leave all judging to God and be merciful to all as I would also want to receive your mercy. It may seem difficult but God will be with me all the time to remind me of what I should be doing in reflecting His image. Thankful He is also merciful to me.

N.B. Remember, that this suit of armor will be used for all the journeys that will lead to my final destination…HEAVEN.

Journey – Armor (Pt. 1)

Ephesians 6:14-17

The armor: Before embarking on a new journey, I need to make sure that I am protected against all plans of the enemy.  With this armor, I will be protected from my head to my feet. This is a full body armor. It leaves no room for a spear to pierce through. Thus, if any piece is left behind, then I will be placing myself in harm’s way.

Journey – The Dawn

The dawn signifies the beginning of a new journey, a new day, a new season, and an end to the darkness. To know I am at the dawn stage of my journey in life is what I have patiently waited to hear from God. I am about to leave the waiting room and answer to my name being called. It is my appointed time…I wonder if you can feel my nervous excitement! My dark days are over; I am exiting the tunnel…glory hallelujah!!! It is the time of jubilee (Days of Elijah)!!!

Destination – The Journey

When we reach a destination/goal in life, the story does not end there…next is going through what comes after. Even death does not end our story…we either live the rest of our spiritual days in heaven or hell. Therefore, life is a continuous journey with many destinations. I am really looking forward to my future destinations (i.e., the plans God has for me)…thinking about it gets me excited 🙂

Growth – Falling in Love/Real Love

This is the final part of the Growth series.  Falling in love with God is a journey in a journey. I remember when I was building my relationship with God, I asked Him for one thing, that every day would feel like a new day with Him (basically a never-ending honeymoon period). He did not disappoint me.  By learning to love Him, daily, I learned to love myself and His children (we are all made by God). It wasn’t easy but he gently guided me through it. In this love and my love for self and others, there is no room for rejection or disappointment…there are no conditions (no invisible or visible strings). His love is the only one that is real and perfect. Thank you God for teaching me how to love properly and for keeping your promise to me everyday of my life and beyond.

Growth – Enemy

The scripture reminds us that we fight not against flesh and blood but spirits…even when a human being is standing before you with evil intent. So the thought came to me…why should I fear evil spirits and their ruler, satan, when they also fear a higher power. I should then fear this higher power, which is GOD. So, God is the one I do not want to go against and to whom I will submit, ALWAYS.

I will not fear the devil but fear THE ONE the devil fears.

I am sure I am not the only one who will think this way. As Kingdom Citizens, children of the Most High God, and believers in Christ Jesus, we will all come to this conclusion, eventually.

Growth – Good Good Father/Daddy

Psalms 68:5 NKJV

“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His Holy habitation.”

My God is a father to my dad, who is fatherless and a widow.  Thank you Daddy for taking such good care of my dad, Your child, all through his life and beyond.  Daddy, You have shown You are the best parent to have as a child of heaven.  You are our breadwinner; our provider and protector. You stand guard over us both day and night without fail.  Nothing can be done to us, Your children, without Your permission.  Your love for us is unconditional and Your discipline is always in our best interest. Happy Father’s Day, DADDY…You are a GOOD GOOD FATHER!!!
